GUIDELINE FOR
CONFERENCE PAPERS
Paper Focus: This is the
conference on “Impending
Changes of the Korean Peninsula and the Future of U.S.-Korean
Relations”
consisting of six panels focusing on domestic politics, international
relations, national security, economic cooperation, shifting paradigm,
and
education. Therefore,
all paper writers
of each panel should consider the given conference theme as much as
possible.
Publication of
Papers: The International Journal of Korean
Studies (IJKS) publishes papers presented to the ICKS annual
conferences
through its editorial process. Therefore, it is assumed that all
authors of the
conference papers agree with consent to IJKS publications.
Format and
Volume: Please write with Font 11 of Time New
Roman style with 1.5 line space on 1 inch margin for all side of the
letter
size paper. Please insert page numbers at the bottom center of the
page. The
total page of a paper should be more than 20 pages but not exceed 30
pages
including endnotes
(not footnotes). If
the writers use other than the MS Word, please convert the file to
the Microsoft Word (1995 or after version) for submission.
Deadline of
Submission: All paper presenters should submit electronic
files of their papers to Dr. Hugo Kim at hugo.kim@verisonn.net
by Wednesday, June 13, 2007.
All writers are responsible to distribute their
paper files to the designated panelists which contact information
(e-mail
address) will be separately notified to all panelists and speakers soon. All panel moderators
should make sure the
distribution of panel papers. The
conference papers will be printed and distributed to participants
before the
panel is open. If
any paper presenter misses
the deadline of submission, that paper may not be included in the
conference paper
file.
LOGISTICS
INFORMATION
Room and Board: The Conference
provides Room and Board for
three nights (Check-in 27th and Check-out 30st
of August)
for all panelists and speakers, for which we have reserved necessary
rooms at
the Waikiki Resort Hotel

). Please notify to
Dr. Soon Paik,
Program Co-Chair, at soon.paik@bls.gov
whether you are going to accompany your spouse.
If you want to stay longer, please make a
separate reservation by
yourself.
Transportation
and Honorarium: The Conference subsidizes up to $500 for
transportation of all paper presenters who came from the Non-sponsored organizations. The Conference will
express a token of
appreciation for all participants who came from the Non-sponsored organizations.
Family
Sightseeing Program: Dr.
Soon Paik will separately offer you a family sightseeing program for a
package
trip to Hawaiian Islands. If you are interested in
it, please join the
program.

The ICKS-KAUPA
Conference 2007 is open to the public. If
anyone wants to join the conference, please
make early registration since available seats are limited.

20 June 2007. The
registration at the door cannot guarantee
your seat in the conference room.
No Registration
Fee: No registration fee will be charged for
this conference. The ICKS provides two luncheons plus one dinner
without charge
for all pre-registered participants.
Hotel
Reservation: Each participant except panelists is
responsible for hotel reservation. The Waikiki
Resort Hotel will give you a reduced price, but you may get
better prices
from nearby hotels. The

Hotel
reservation is not
necessary for all panelists, but timely
